Ir (to go) is one of the most useful verbs in Spanish. Add a and an infinitive, and you can talk about the future.

The near future
ir + a + infinitive = going to do something.
Voy a jugar al fĂștbol. = I am going to play football.
Vamos a ver una pelĂcula. = We are going to watch a film.
Do not forget the a.

Negatives and time phrases
No goes before ir: No voy a salir. = I am not going to go out.
Time phrases: mañana (tomorrow), esta tarde (this afternoon / evening), este fin de semana (this weekend), el såbado que viene (next Saturday), la semana que viene (next week), el año que viene (next year).

Translate: Tomorrow I am going to play football with my friends.
- Tomorrow: mañana.
- I am going to play: voy a jugar.
- football with my friends: al fĂștbol con mis amigos.
Answer: Mañana voy a jugar al fĂștbol con mis amigos.
Ir: voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van. Near future = ir + a + infinitive: voy a jugar. Negative: no voy a jugar. Time phrases: mañana, este fin de semana, la semana que viene.
