Privacy policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

GCSE-ready is currently free: every lesson is open and no payments are taken. If paid plans are introduced later, these pages will be updated, with the full business name and address, before any payment is taken.

What we collect

• Account details (optional): your email address and first name. If you create a password, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version that cannot be turned back into your password.
• Learning progress: the first name you type in the app, your qualification and tier, lessons done, answers, scores, streaks and badges.
• Payment records: which plan you have and when it renews. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.

Why we use it

Only to run GCSE-ready: to sign you in, save your progress across devices, unlock the plan you paid for, and show the weekly parent report. We do not show adverts, we do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build profiles for marketing.

Where it is stored

Progress is saved in your browser on your device. If you sign in, it is also saved on Cloudflare, which hosts GCSE-ready. Payments are handled by Stripe. Google handles "Sign in with Google". Resend sends our account emails (confirming your address and password reset codes). Each of these companies processes data for us under its own security and privacy commitments.

Children

GCSE-ready is used by students under 18. We collect as little as possible, keep privacy settings high by default, and do not share students' data with advertisers. A parent or carer should make any payment. Creating an account is optional; you can use every free lesson without one. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or carer before creating an account. There is more for families on our page for parents.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and saved progress while your account exists. If you delete your account, your account details and saved progress are removed. We keep payment records for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can see, correct or delete your data. You can delete your account yourself from the account page, or email us to ask for a copy of your data or for help.

Cookies and storage

GCSE-ready uses your browser's local storage to save progress and keep you signed in. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We count visits as a daily total only, with no personal data. Google and Stripe may set their own cookies when you use their sign-in or payment pages.
