About GCSE-ready
GCSE-ready is a free revision website and app for students in Years 7 to 11 (about ages 11 to 16) in the UK and at British-curriculum schools abroad. It gives one short lesson a day: a few screens of notes, a worked example, quick questions that mark themselves, and help with anything you got wrong.
What it covers
Lessons follow the published Pearson Edexcel GCSE and International GCSE specifications and, for Years 7 to 9, the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum in England. Each lesson page lists the specification it follows and the sources used to check it. Many lessons also have a short video, a printable worksheet and practice questions.
Who it is for
- Students revising for GCSE or International GCSE exams, or keeping up in Key Stage 3.
- Parents and carers who want to see how revision is going. See the page for parents.
- Teachers and tutors who want free lessons to share with a class. See the page for teachers.
Everything is free. There are no adverts and no payments, and you can use every lesson without an account.
Who runs it
GCSE-ready is run by a small independent editorial team based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is not part of a school, an exam board or a publisher. The legal details of the operator are on our privacy page.
How lessons are written
We write lessons with substantial help from AI tools. Each lesson is drafted from the exam board specification for that topic, then edited into short screens with a worked example, common mistakes and practice questions. For many calculation questions and their extra practice versions, the answers are worked out by computer code and then checked again separately.
AI-written text is never published as a lesson without a review. The answers given by Ask AI and Correct my answer are written by AI at the moment you ask, are not reviewed, and are labelled as AI answers that can contain mistakes.
How lessons are checked
Lessons are checked in a separate fact-checking pass, done independently of the writing. A checker compares each fact, figure, date and definition with a published source, such as the exam board specification, gov.uk, the Office for National Statistics or another reference source, and records the source. AI tools help with these checks too, and every fix is checked against the cited source before it is made.
When a lesson has been through this check, its page shows "Facts checked against sources" with the date, and the sources are listed under "Sources and references". A lesson without that line has not had its independent check yet. We are working through every subject.
Corrections
Every lesson page has a "Spotted a mistake? Tell us" link. You can also email hello@gcse-ready.org with the lesson name and what looks wrong. When a mistake is confirmed we:
- correct the lesson, its practice questions and any printable versions;
- correct our printed books on Amazon;
- replace any video that contains the mistake with a corrected one;
- update the "Facts checked" date on the lesson.
Exam details, set texts and options vary between schools, so always check them with your teacher.
Independence from exam boards
GCSE-ready is an independent resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced by Pearson Edexcel, any other exam board, or the publishers whose books we list. Pearson and Edexcel are trademarks of Pearson Education Ltd. We name exam boards and specifications only to show which course a lesson follows.
