Weather and climate: three tenses

Weather expressions are useful in every tense. Learn them in the present, past and future.
Present
Il fait beau / chaud / froid. (It is nice / hot / cold.)
Il pleut. (It is raining.) Il neige. (It is snowing.)
Il y a du soleil / du vent / des nuages / du brouillard. (sunny / windy / cloudy / foggy)

Past and future
Climate
le climat (climate), le réchauffement climatique (global warming), la sécheresse (drought), les inondations (floods), une tempête (storm), une canicule (heatwave), les températures augmentent (temperatures are rising).
Translate: Yesterday it was sunny but tomorrow it will snow.
- It was sunny: il faisait beau (imperfect).
- Tomorrow: demain.
- It will snow: il neigera.
Answer: Hier, il faisait beau mais demain, il neigera.
Il fait / il faisait / il fera beau. Il pleut / il pleuvait / il pleuvra. Il y a / il y avait / il y aura du vent. Climate words: la sécheresse, les inondations, le réchauffement climatique.
