At a station you need ticket words, the 24-hour clock and quick questions.

At the station

un billet (a ticket), un aller simple (a single), un aller-retour (a return), le quai (the platform), la gare routière (bus station), en retard (late), à l'heure (on time), le prochain train (the next train).

Times

Timetables use the 24-hour clock.
seize heures trente = 16:30 (4:30 pm)
vingt heures quinze = 20:15 (8:15 pm)
À quelle heure part le train ? = What time does the train leave?
À quelle heure arrive-t-il ? = What time does it arrive?

Opinions on transport

  1. A return: un aller-retour.
  2. To Nice: pour Nice.
