Object pronouns stop you repeating nouns. In French they go in front of the verb.
Direct object pronouns
le (him / it, masculine), la (her / it, feminine), l' before a vowel, me (me), te (you), vous (you, polite).
Mon portable ? Je l'utilise tous les jours.
Ma tablette ? Je la trouve pratique.
Mon portable ? Je l'utilise tous les jours.

Indirect object pronouns
Use these for verbs with à + a person (parler à, téléphoner à, donner à, envoyer à).
lui = to him / to her, me = to me, te = to you, vous = to you.
Je parle à ma sœur. → Je lui parle.
Il me donne un cadeau. = He gives me a present.

Where they go
Before the verb: Je le regarde.
In a negative, ne goes before the pronoun: Je ne le regarde pas.
With an infinitive, before the infinitive: Je vais le regarder.

With an infinitive, before the infinitive: Je vais le regarder.
Translate: My grandmother? I phone her every week.
- Téléphoner à + person, so use lui.
- Lui goes before the verb.
- Every week: chaque semaine.
Answer: Ma grand-mère ? Je lui téléphone chaque semaine.
le, la, l' replace a thing or person (direct). lui replaces à + a person (indirect). Pronouns go before the verb, after ne, and before an infinitive.
