Formal: use vous. Start with Madame, Monsieur, and end with Cordialement.
Informal: use tu. Start with Salut ! and end with À bientôt !
For top marks: cover every bullet point, use a range of tenses, give opinions with reasons, and check agreements, articles and accents.
Translation traps: Je n'ai pas de chat. J'aime les chats. en France, à Paris.

- I like cats: aimer + les: j'aime les chats.
- I don't have: je n'ai pas.
- After a negative: de chat.
Answer: J'aime les chats mais je n'ai pas de chat.
