Directions and asking for help: the imperative
To give directions you need commands: go, take, turn. Arabic commands change for a boy, a girl or a group.
Asking the way
عَفْوًا، أَيْنَ المَحَطّة؟ = Excuse me, where is the station? كَيْفَ أَذْهَبُ إلى المَتْحَف؟ = How do I get to the museum?
هَلْ هُوَ قَريبٌ مِن هُنا؟ = Is it near here? بَعيد عَن = far from.
Places: المَحَطّة station, المَتْحَف museum, المُسْتَشْفى hospital, الصَّيْدَلِيّة pharmacy, البَنْك bank, السّوق market.

The imperative
Where is it?
على اليَمين on the right, على اليَسار on the left, أَمامَ in front of, خَلْفَ behind, بِجانِبِ next to, بَيْنَ between, مُقابِلَ opposite.
الصَّيْدَلِيّةُ بِجانِبِ البَنْك = The pharmacy is next to the bank.
If you need help: ساعِدْني مِن فَضْلِك = Help me, please. أَضَعْتُ طَريقي = I'm lost (I lost my way).

Tell a girl: Go straight on, then take the second street on the left.
- Go straight on, to a girl: اذهبي مستقيمًا.
- Then: ثم.
- Take, to a girl: خذي; the second street on the left: الشارع الثاني على اليسار.
Answer: اذهبي مستقيمًا ثم خذي الشارع الثاني على اليسار.
Imperative: اذهب / اذهبي / اذهبوا, خذ / خذي / خذوا, انعطف / انعطفي. Places: على اليمين، على اليسار، أمام، خلف، بجانب، بين، مقابل.
