Opinions in Spanish use gustar, which works differently from English "like".
Subjects
las matemáticas, el inglés, el español, las ciencias, la historia, el dibujo (art), la tecnología (technology), el deporte (PE).
Gustar
Gustar literally means "to please".
Me gusta + one thing: Me gusta el inglés.
Me gustan + more than one: Me gustan las ciencias.
Also: me encanta / me encantan (I love), odio (I hate).

Justify it
Add porque es + adjective: interesante, fácil (easy), difícil (difficult), aburrido (boring), útil (useful).
Plural subjects need a plural verb and adjective: Me gustan las matemáticas porque son útiles.

Translate: I like science because it is interesting.
- Las ciencias is plural, so me gustan.
- Plural: porque son.
- interesting (plural) = interesantes
Answer: Me gustan las ciencias porque son interesantes.
Me gusta + singular, me gustan + plural. Justify with porque es (singular) or porque son (plural) + adjective.
