¡Hola! Start by greeting people, saying your name and age, and asking other people about themselves.
Hello and goodbye
Hola = hello. Buenos días = good morning. Buenas tardes = good afternoon. Buenas noches = good evening / good night.
Adiós = goodbye. Hasta luego = see you later. Hasta mañana = see you tomorrow.
¿Qué tal? or ¿Cómo estás? = How are you? Bien, gracias. = Fine, thanks. Regular. = So-so. Fatal. = Awful.

Introducing yourself
Tú or usted?
Tú (you) is for a friend, a family member or someone your age.
Usted is the polite you for an adult you do not know well, such as a teacher. It uses the él / ella form of the verb.
So: ¿Cómo te llamas? to a classmate, but ¿Cómo se llama usted? to a new teacher.

Translate: Hello, my name is Sam and I am eleven.
- Hello: Hola.
- My name is: Me llamo Sam.
- I am eleven: Tengo once años (tener for age).
Answer: Hola, me llamo Sam y tengo once años.
