Most Arabic job words have a feminine form with ة, and many take the sound plurals you already know.

Where and how

مُسْتَشْفى hospital, مَكْتَب office, مَصْنَع factory, شَرِكة company, مَطْعَم restaurant, مَتْجَر shop.
يَعْمَلُ أَبي مُهَنْدِسًا = My father works as an engineer (the job takes ـًا).
أُمّي مُمَرِّضة وتَعْمَلُ في مُسْتَشْفى = My mother is a nurse and works in a hospital.

Part-time work

عَمَل بِدَوامٍ جُزْئِيّ = a part-time job. أَعْمَلُ في مَقْهى يَوْمَ السَّبْت = I work in a café on Saturday.
أَكْسِبُ مالًا لِأَشْتَرِيَ مَلابِس = I earn money to buy clothes.
أُريدُ وَظيفةً مُمْتِعةً ومُفيدةً لِلْمُجْتَمَع = I want an interesting job that is useful for society.
Worked example

Translate: My sister is an engineer and she works in a company.

  1. My sister: أختي.
  2. Is an engineer (female): مهندسة, no verb needed.
  3. She works in a company: وتعمل في شركة.

Answer: أختي مهندسة وتعمل في شركة.

Key idea

Jobs add ة for women: طبيب / طبيبة, معلّم / معلّمة. Plurals: معلّمون / معلّمات. يعمل أبي مهندسًا = my father works as an engineer. Workplaces: مستشفى، مكتب، مصنع، شركة.
