Ambitions: study, volunteering and training
"If I pass my exams, I will go to university." Arabic conditional sentences with إذا are simple once you know one trick.

التَّدْريبُ المِهَنِيّ vocational training, an apprenticeship. العَمَلُ التَّطَوُّعِيّ / التَّطَوُّع volunteering.
أَتَمَنّى أَنْ ... = I hope to ... حُلْمي أَنْ ... = My dream is to ... أُخَطِّطُ لِـ ... = I am planning to ...

أَتَمَنّى أَنْ ... = I hope to ... حُلْمي أَنْ ... = My dream is to ... أُخَطِّطُ لِـ ... = I am planning to ...
إذا (if)
The verb after إذا is in the past form, but the meaning is present or future:
إذا نَجَحْتُ في امْتِحاناتي، سَأَذْهَبُ إلى الجامِعة = If I pass my exams, I will go to university.
إذا كانَ عِنْدي وَقْت، سَأَتَطَوَّعُ = If I have time, I will volunteer.
The second half usually uses سـ (will).
إذا نَجَحْتُ في امْتِحاناتي، سَأَذْهَبُ إلى الجامِعة = If I pass my exams, I will go to university.
إذا كانَ عِنْدي وَقْت، سَأَتَطَوَّعُ = If I have time, I will volunteer.
The second half usually uses سـ (will).
Volunteering
أُريدُ أَنْ أَتَطَوَّعَ في مُسْتَشْفى / في جَمْعِيّةٍ خَيْرِيّة = I want to volunteer in a hospital / for a charity.
التَّطَوُّعُ يُعَلِّمُنا المَسْؤولِيّة = Volunteering teaches us responsibility.
أُفَضِّلُ التَّدْريبَ المِهَنِيَّ على الجامِعة لِأَنّي أُحِبُّ العَمَلَ بِيَدَيّ = I prefer an apprenticeship to university because I like working with my hands.
التَّطَوُّعُ يُعَلِّمُنا المَسْؤولِيّة = Volunteering teaches us responsibility.
أُفَضِّلُ التَّدْريبَ المِهَنِيَّ على الجامِعة لِأَنّي أُحِبُّ العَمَلَ بِيَدَيّ = I prefer an apprenticeship to university because I like working with my hands.
Translate: If I have time, I will volunteer at a hospital.
- If I have time: إذا كان عندي وقت (past form كان).
- I will volunteer: سأتطوّع.
- At a hospital: في مستشفى.
Answer: إذا كان عندي وقت، سأتطوّع في مستشفى.
إذا + past form, then سـ + present: إذا نجحتُ، سأذهب إلى الجامعة. أتمنّى أن / حلمي أن + verb. Words: الجامعة، التدريب المهني، التطوّع، جمعية خيرية.
