Tu or vous?
Tu (you) is for one friend, a family member or someone your age.
Vous (you) is for an adult you do not know well, such as a teacher, or for more than one person.
So: Comment tu t'appelles ? to a new classmate, but Comment vous appelez-vous ? to a new teacher.
