Answering

All your answers are in French.
You are marked on understanding: small spelling mistakes do not lose marks if the meaning is clear.
Keep answers short: a word or phrase is often enough.

Tips

Use the reading time to predict likely words.
On the first listening, get the gist. On the second, check details.
Listen for negatives, numbers, times and tense markers (hier, demain, avant).
Worked example

A question asks Quand ? You hear "Je pars demain matin". What do you write?

  1. Quand asks when.
  2. The time phrase is demain matin.
  3. A short answer is enough.

Answer: demain matin

Key idea

30 minutes, 40 marks, 25%. Each recording twice. Answer in French; meaning matters more than perfect spelling. Listen for negatives, numbers and time words.
